p.s. he was soooo close to crawling today. I thought for sure a couple times he was going to do it. He just managed to do more dragging and scooting than crawling.

Happy sixth month birthday!

Harrison turned six months old on Saturday. Jeremy and Beth came over and took some pics of us. I will post them later. I felt like a bad mom cuz I didn't post for his b-day. Mother's guilt can be pretty ridiculous sometimes.

The Pioneer Press is doing a story on Harrison's baptism. they came and interviewed Melissa mom(Grammie) and me today. They also took pics of Harrison in his baptismal gown.

Q. Why did they do this?

Harrison's baptism is may 31, they are going to run the story the same day. I'll post the story if I can for all you out of towners.

Great-Grandfather Hall

Harrison's Great-Grandfather Hall (Grammie Schille's father) passed away a few days ago. I wanted to share a significant story for Harrison and I.

Grandfather Hall had been in a long term care nursing home for sometime. He was an Episcopalian Reverend that started a congregation on Kodiak Island in Alaska and this is where he passed away. His health had been ailing for some time but he still maintained relationships with his family, no matter how far away we lived. I had never had the pleasure to meet him but I certainly felt I was part of the Hall family.

After Harrison was born last November, Grammie emailed pictures to Grandmother and she brought them to Grandfather's room to show him. Grandfather opened his eyes for the first time in many days to look at his new great-grandson. He then grasped onto the picture and would not let it go. This was the most responsive he had been in a long time and it took a bit of effort to get the picture of Harrison out of his hands again. Melissa (Grammie) called to tell me this story after her mother told it to her. I sat on the couch and cried tears of joy that Harrison was so very loved. Grandfather Hall's room was filled with pictures of Harrison and his other great-grandson Rian(born last summer a few months before Harrison)

I promise, Great-Grandfather Hall, that Harrison will know this story someday.

We are having a baptism on may 31st and I am dedicating it to Great-Grandfather Hall. His love for Harrison is inspiring and is truly what it means to be Christian. Harrison will be wearing the Hall family baptismal gown and this is truly an honor for our family.

I believe that Grandfather will be there at the baptism like Obe Wan looking after Luke Skywalker.

To wrap up in a lighter note, Grandfather Hall saw a picture of me once and apparently he was leg man. He made a comment about liking my gams or some such statement.

I leave you with this...

She's got leeeggggs, she knows how to use them!
She never begs, she knows how to choose them!
She only lets you wonder how to feel them
Would you get behind them if you could only find them
She's my baby, she's my baby
Yeah, it's all right!!

Mommy time

So this may be a mundane blog to some-but others might appreciate it.

I usually hate getting my hair done. I wish I didn't have poop brown hair that was yucky so I wouldn't have to spend the time and money on it but I do have poop brown hair that is yucky so blonde I have to be.

I love my hair dresser Molly. She is cute and spunky and totally gets me. That makes the trip to the hair salon better but I still usually hate it. It is like going to the dentist. I hate being poked and prodded, I have to stop myself from slapping their hands away from me. Today, however, I spent an enjoyable hour and a half catching up with Molly, sipping tea, and reading People magazine. I didn't want my hair apt to end! I guess that is what is called mommy time. I feel more relaxed now than I have in over a year.*sigh*

We are working on some EXCITING news about Harrison's baptism so keep checking in on the blog. I'll give you a hint-Harrison might be famous in a few weeks!!!

I leave you with a pic of Grampa Schille and Harrison that I love...

(Grammie and Grampa told us today that we could have another one because this one turned out so good. hmm, I will have to think about that one.)
